What Happens in a Home Feng Shui Visit
A home feng shui visit takes about one to two hours, depending on the size and layout of the property. It starts with a floor plan before the visit and ends with a written PDF report. This guide walks through each stage, for homes in Johor Bahru, elsewhere in Malaysia and in Singapore.
Before the visit
Please send the floor plan before the visit. It helps Master Mandy Lim understand the basic layout in advance. If you know the approximate dates for starting renovation or moving in, mention them. If you also send the birth details of the household, they can be taken into account.
On the day
- The surroundings. The road layout, what is in front of and beside the building, and the direction it faces.
- Directions. Readings are taken on site with a compass to measure the facing direction and degrees.
- The unit. The main door, living room, kitchen and bedrooms, and how they sit within the floor plan.
- Strengths and points to watch. What the environment and layout offer, and what needs attention or adjustment.
- Bazi, if provided. If household members have shared their birth details, the assessment can include guidance related to them.
A visit usually takes about 45 minutes to 2 hours, depending on the size of the property, its layout and how complicated it is.
The written report
The report is usually ready in 3 to 7 working days after the visit and is sent as a PDF. It includes the floor plan marked with the findings and a list of suggestions. If you already know roughly when you plan to start groundwork or move in, suitable dates are included as well.
Questions after the visit
If the design, floor plan or layout changes during renovation, you can ask again. Replies usually come within the same day to two working days, and may take a little longer if the work is out of state. It helps to collect your questions and ask them together.
Fees and areas
Home feng shui in Malaysia starts from RM 1,200 for an apartment or condominium and RM 1,500 for landed property. In Singapore it starts from SGD 700 for an HDB flat, SGD 800 for a condominium and SGD 1,200 for landed property. There is no separate travel charge in Singapore, because the fee already includes it. The final fee depends on the property and is confirmed in writing before you book. Singapore reports can be written in Chinese or English.
