Bazi compatibility compares two birth charts. Readers look at how the two Day Masters relate, whether the elements in each chart balance the other, and how the earthly branches interact (harmony, clash or punishment). It describes tendencies in how two people fit, not whether a relationship will succeed.
What do readers compare?
- Day Masters: how the two stems relate (supportive, restraining or peer).
- Element balance: whether one chart supplies what the other lacks.
- Branch relationships: harmony (合), clash (冲) and punishment (刑) between the branches, especially the day branch (the spouse palace).
- Luck Pillars: whether both people are in phases that support each other, and when.
What does compatibility not tell you?
