What Questions Should I Ask in a Bazi Reading? Examples by Topic
A Bazi reading gives you the most when you bring specific questions about a situation you can act on. Short, concrete questions about fit and timing get clearer answers than broad ones such as “What will my life be like?”. This guide gives examples by topic, questions to ask the reader about their method, and questions to avoid.
How to choose a good question
- Pick a real situation. A decision, a pattern you keep repeating or a period you are about to enter.
- Ask about fit and timing. “What suits me?” and “What should I pay attention to this year?” work better than “Will this work out?”
- One main question first. Put the most important question first, then add smaller ones.
- Give context. One sentence of background helps the reader apply the chart to you.
In our online reading you can ask up to 10 questions. See what to expect.
Career and work
- What kind of work environment and working style suit my chart?
- Is this a good period to change jobs, or is it better to build where I am?
- Which years in the next ten look better for building and which for caution?
- How do I tend to handle pressure, and how does that show up at work?
More in Bazi for career.
Business and money
- What is my approach to risk, and where might I be too cautious or too bold?
- How does the current Luck Pillar compare with the next one for starting or expanding something?
- How do I tend to work with partners?
For investment, tax or legal decisions, get professional advice first. A reading does not replace it.
Relationships and family
- What patterns show up in how I communicate in close relationships?
- How do my partner's chart and mine relate, and where might we need to adjust? (a two-chart comparison is quoted separately. See Bazi compatibility)
- What is a good way to understand my child's personality?
Timing and the coming years
- What does my current Luck Pillar favour, and when does the next one begin?
- What should I pay attention to in 2027? See the 2027 Fire Goat year.
- Which months this year need more care?
Self-understanding
- What is my Day Master, and what does it say about how I work best? See What is a Day Master?
- Which elements are strong or missing in my chart, and what does that mean in daily terms?
- Where are my blind spots?
Questions to ask the reader
- Can you show me my four pillars and explain how you read them?
- What in the chart supports this view?
- What is uncertain, and what would change your reading?
- My birth time is uncertain. What can we still say? See Bazi without a birth time.
- What do I receive afterwards, such as a recording or a written report?
See How to choose a Bazi reader for red flags.
Questions to avoid
- Yes-or-no questions about a fixed outcome, such as “Will I get rich?” or “Will I get the job?”
- Questions with several parts that are really three questions.
- Medical, legal or financial instructions. A reading is not a substitute for professional advice.
- Questions about other people's private lives without their knowledge.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
How many questions can I ask in a Bazi reading?
It depends on the format. In our online reading you can ask up to 10 questions in a 60-minute video session.
What if I do not have a specific question?
Then start with self-understanding: your Day Master, the element balance, your current Luck Pillar and what to pay attention to this year. A good reader can lead from there.
Should I send my questions before the session?
It helps. Write them down, put the most important first and add one sentence of context. Being clear about the decision saves time in the session.
Can I ask about my partner or my child?
Yes, if you have their birth details. A comparison of two charts is quoted separately. For a child, readers often focus on personality and how best to support them.
Can I ask about health?
A reading is not a medical service. You can ask about stress patterns and rhythms of energy in general terms, but health decisions should go to a doctor.
Is it okay to ask the reader to explain their reasoning?
Yes. A good reader shows the features of the chart they are relying on and says what is uncertain. If a reader cannot explain, treat the reading with caution.
